The original fisherman's sweaters of the Aran Islands were knit with designs that told stories of a rich coastal heritage. Blazing warm sweater! Perfect over a shirt on chilly AZ nights when temps are in low 40’s. Heavyweight, traditional patterns. If folklore stands true, this sweater will bring luck and protection to the wearer for years to come.

Warm and Comfortable
I bought this sweater at an L.L.bean outlet in Maine while on vacation. I am thoroughly pleased with the quality and comfort. Mid to heavy weight. I especially love the autumn color. It is a rich rust shade with a slight dark red hue which goes well with tans and browns. I definitely recommend it. I am 5’4 and bought a medium size. It is a good fit.

Softens After Washing
I purchased the charcoal color sweater and almost returned it because the yarn felt stiff and was definitely not cozy. After reading Bean's response to another review, I decided to wash it before wearing. I tumbled it in the dryer until partially dry, then hung it to finish drying. The sweater softened and is now comfortable, one that will see extensive wear. This is a quality sweater, with distinctive knit pattern, and a great addition for fall and winter wear.
