Zipper issue
Most of the jacket is nice. However, I dislike the cheap plastic zipper. It is very difficult to line up the plastic double zippers and then they get stuck. I have to step out of the zipped coat to try and get the zipper apart. Too expensive to have this issue. I don't think I'll buy any more coats from LL Bean.

Fit too updated
This jacket was what I’ve been looking for! Except for the modernized fit. It used to be easy to find a lined, water resistant parka that, with the addition of a sweater or something, was comfortable from 55 degrees to 30 degrees. I thought this reissue of the Baxter State Parka was the answer, and it almost is. But the fit doesn’t allow comfortable layering, the arms and shoulders are too form fitting.
When I read the reviews (after I’d purchased) I saw other people with the same complaint.
Don’t modernize the fit!! Leave room for layering and it would be a winner. I returned my jacket.

Perfect for all seasons!
This parka was exactly what I was looking for! I was able to use it as a top layer with warmer layers underneath in cold, damp weather and stayed toasty warm. The fit was perfect and it looks stylish. Most of all, the quality was excellent! Good zippers, fabric and pockets. Thank you LL Bean, for still offering useful and well made outerwear!

Excellent winter coat. Wind resistant, wool lining in torso area, warm insulated lining in lower half and sleeves. Zipper is two way, backup snaps. Hood is essential. Perfect for Colorado.

Sleeves are a bit narrow
Just what I wanted. It’s difficult to find a cold weather coat that falls below the hip. This coat’s length is perfect. The flannel lining pulls at long sleeve shirts worn as a first layer and I wish the sleeves were a bit more generous. I’m an average size women’s 8. I’m limited to what layers I can wear beneath. Overall happy with this coat.

I really like this jacket! Especially all the pockets and hood. The only thing that would make it PERFECT would be a tad more insulation to avoid needing extra layers.
