Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get it ! Love my parka ! I have wanted this coat for the last three years . I bought my first one, during an amazing sale. It did t fit me well and I ended up giving it to my son and he loves his coat. Now fast forward to a month ago, a cold front was coming in and I had to walk my dogs, I asked my kid if I could borrow his coat and to my amazement , it fit me well ! Shocked I came in and had my son give me a second opinion , I hadn’t realized I had lost a little weight, and he encouraged me to order my coat . No regrets. I love it ! We actually got a good 6” of snow and I was toasty warm in a t shirt and sweatpants. Best coat ever ! Take your time with the zipper. You need to line it up to get it to zip. It takes a little patience, and the pay off is warmth and comfort .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Parka… The parka is beautiful! I’ve received a lot of compliments on it. I was a bit concerned about buying the parka after reading reviews about the zipper. I will say, the zipper is sticky and you need “learn” how to use it to zip up the parka and that’s why it got a 4/5. It is extremely warm. I used it for 5 days outdoors in -25 degree windchill and single digit temperatures in the Upper Peninsula.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The zipper might be the only down fall Amazing jacket. The only thing that I have a complaint about is the zipper. Previous to buying this jacket, I owned a Carhartt jacket that was very similar. It had a double zipper just like this jacket, and I never had a problem zipping it. With this jacket, I struggle on a daily basis. I have to maneuver it multiple times before I can pull the zipper up. For spending almost double the price of my last jacket, I didn’t think I’d struggle over using a zipper. Besides the zipper, I highly recommend this jacket as I’m often outside in the cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice warm jacket This jacket is nice and warm. The only thing I wish there were more pockets, inside the jacket for a wallet or cell phone and two hand warmer pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kept me nice and warm in temps in the teens and 20 I live near Gettsyburg, PA where winters are typically not super cold, but this year we had very low temperatures coupled with high winds, and I was freezing even in my warmest coats. I decided I needed something LONG and super warm for the coldest days, but worried this coat was meant for extreme cold and that I’d be way too hot. I went to an LL Bean store so I could try it on and see just how warm it was, and was surprised that I was NOT instantly sweating. Down has a magical ability to not feel too hot in warmer conditions, but to keep you warm in cold temperatures (it knows!!) unlike polyester linings. So, home it went and a week later when temps were down in the single digits, I donned my new parka (sans the fake fur which poked me in the eyes) and headed outside and was nice and warm! Even walked my dogs when it was in the low 20s for several miles (they had coats on, don’t worry) and didn’t get over-heated since down breathes nicely. The hood also has down which makes such a big difference. I also appreciate that when fully zipped, the front of the coat comes up high enough to cover my face up to my nose. The pockets are a tad bit low as others have mentioned, but it’s not a deal breaker since I don’t walk around with my hands in my pockets that much. Yes, the zipper is tricky; one coat I tried on in the store I could not zip, the one I purchased I had no issues with at all, so I was glad to be able to try them on in person. Overall, I’m very happy with the coat and don’t regret the high price tag. It may only be needed a few days a year in this area but I’m very glad to have it. I really wanted the green one but there were only black ones in the store so I figured I'd take one where I knew the zipper worked well. As for sizing, I'm 5'6 and around 155 and range between a medium and large (like 10/12 range) in LL Bean products. I have a muscular build and big shoulders (chest around 38 inches) , and found the medium in this coat to be a big snug, but the hips and lower part fit well. The large fit my chest and shoulders well but could be smaller in the bottom part, but that's just my odd shape, not anything weird about the cut of the coat.
