Classic style and quality
I purchased this field coat for my husband to replace his coat that he has been wearing for over 30 years. He was please with the classic style and exceptional quality. My guess he'll be wearing the new coat for another 30 years, Lord willing.

This Is The Famous Jacket?
I bought one jacket and had to had the buttons sewn. Not a huge deal, things happen. Got a second jacket on sale. Different color, same problem. Same button fell off on the first wear. Looking at the reviews here, apparently this is a known issue. These jackets are made for hunting and mine did not last one day at an office desk job. The flannel is also beginning to pill already.
Two star rating because the look, style, and comfort of the jacket are all up to the Ll Bean standard. It is a shame the durability is not.

Sleeves Too Long
I'm 5'8"...155lbs. I wear a 40S sport jacket. Typically, when I order a medium online, the sleeves usually go to my palm and I tolerate the extra length. But for my Field Coat, the sleeves went past my fingers. I love LL Bean, but I guess this wasn't meant to be.

Absolutely love this jacket
Love this jacket!! I ended up going with a men’s instead of women’s but I couldn’t be happier. I got it a size larger than I normally would for an oversized fit so I could layer up underneath since it’s not a warm jacket but I absolutely love it! Would be perfect for fall but I’m going to layer up some sweaters and wear it over the winter on some not so cold days

A Very Handsome, and Rugged Field Coat
My wife bought this very fine Field Coat for me for our fifty-third wedding anniversary. It replaces my old coat which was at least 40 years old.
Its collar and interior lining is very soft and much warmer than the old coat. It is sufficiently warm for most cold days here in the northern San Francisco Bay area. You might want to layer it with an exterior rain coat though. It's made with very fine craftsmanship, and has loads of pockets for whatever you need to carry about. It will definitely out live me and somebody will inherit a very fine coat.
