Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I just got this jacket and have worn it for three days in temps ranging from 32-50 degrees. Mine is a Large Tall and I am 6’3” and 210 lbs. I don’t think the wool is itchy at all. In fact, it’s pretty soft. It fits nicely over a dress shirt or that same shirt plus a sweater or a vest. I wear shirts with a 36” sleeve and was surprise that these sleeves are about 3/4” longer than I would want so I’ll take to an alterations shop so it fits just right. Suggested improvements are a zip pocket inside the jacket and to make the two flap pockets about an inch deeper. I think the grey wool with faint red plaid looks really nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Roomy, warm, wind resistant The fit is roomy and relaxed so i had to get a small, i wear a 38s in suits. The insulation is very warm, while also highly wind resistant. It would be nice to have an interior chest pocket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for! I bought the Men's Maine Guide Zip-Front Jac-Shirt with PrimaLoft a month ago as a dash to... jacket and to be used in a number of different layering situations and couldn't be more satisfied! I'm 5'9", 173 lbs. and ordered both large and medium and settled on the medium which leaves a bit of room to layer beneath. Arm length was just below my wrist bone and the location of the cuff buttons is just right. As some reviews suggested I would agree that by itself it is a bit noisy however I no longer hunt and don't see this as a detractor. Others have suggested that the chest pockets are a bit small and while I also agree, the jacket cape extends over the pockets so I don't really see this as an issue for my needs. When going for evening walks wearing a lightweight wool base layer with my Classic Ragg Wool Sweater or comparable fleece layer under this Jac-Shirt, I was comfortable at 29-30 degrees with light wind. I could feel a chill in my arms, but I was not cold. Walking with the same base layer and Jac-Shirt under my Original Baxter State Parka '82 was perfect at 27 degrees. I was not zipped up tight and after 20 min of walking needed to vent a bit to prevent overheating. A lack of waist drawcord was noticeable but not a showstopper as I can work around that. I am a bit disappointed in the single stitch hem, (shown below) but at this price point I don't expect all the features offered by other manufacturers and at the end of the day this Jac-Shirt is still a win for me. Happy Holidays!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, comfortable, versatile and nice looking jac More jacket than shirt but a warm, comfortable, versatile and nice looking jacket that I wear almost everywhere. Unless you have very long arms, I suggest ordering 1 smaller size than usual.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like the coat, but stop putting your logo I ordered this jacket because I liked the color (grey and black) and it was on sale. While I like the jacket and the fit, I thought it was unnecessary to have the words "LL Bean" embroidered on the front left pocket. This is a classic LL bean garment and there no need to cheapen its look by embroidering unnecessary advertising on the outside. Otherwise, I think it is a really nice coat and it fits well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic Decent weight. Seems to be built for durability. I'm not a heavy coat wearer and prefer at most a shirtjak like this. Over the years I've found myself going back to more traditional and natural insulators for winter wear like wool. Just seems to wear better. Retains heat better. Plus it has a classic style that never goes out. Looking forward to many years of use from this jacket.
