Solid coat that looks good but disappointing
This is a solid wool pea coat. It looks fine. But it’s disappointing to see LL Bean go with importing this, rather than work with a domestic manufacturer (e.g. Sterlingwesr, the former manufacturer of pea coats for the US Navy). It just feels a little cheap and not up to the old LL Bean quality. It feels more like a $150 coat from a department store.

Nice material
Bought this coat a few years ago and love everything about it except that the external pockets are for show only, really wish they were functional.

Great coat, quality needs rechecking
Great coat, quality needs rechecking. Multiple buttons loose, not the biggest deal but for the money there should be zero need to sew or modify a new item. Overall happy with the purchase but again for the money, do a better job L.L.Bean, you’re known for quality products this loses credibility with me.

Warm Coat, Color unexpected
This was my first purchase from LL Bean. I enjoy wearing this coat for short walks in cold weather and for casual outdoor occasions with jeans. It covers the top of my chest, and I find it warm until about 30 degrees with two long sleeve layers under it. The "Navy" color might as well be black. This color is my disappointment with the product, but it wasn't worth returning it over.

Nice coat but pockets not sewn properly.
The exterior of this pea coat is top notch and the insulated liner does a good job keeping out the cold.
Unfortunately, mine arrived with the liner of one of the interior pockets not sewn properly. So, there was a hole in it large enough for my car keys to fall through. I just fixed it myself rather than deal with the hassle of returning the coat. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but disappointing for this price point.
Also, I recommend that you try this on, and purchase, in store if possible. The sizing guide pointed me towards a large, but when it arrived it was huge on me. I had gone to my local store for the coat initially but they didn't have any in stock and told me that they were unlikely to get any this season. I returned the overly large coat to the store and discovered that they had received an entire rack of pea coats. I was able to verify that the medium fit me.
In-store returns of online purchases result in a refund being issued, so you can't do exchanges. I would have had no issue purchasing the medium in store and getting a refund processed for the on-line purchase. However, my initial purchase was on sale for 15% off, and the store wouldn't honor this price. I was told that I would have to call LL Bean to explain the situation and get the sale price honored and another coat would be shipped to me. I ended up doing this.... however, when the coat was delivered and I noticed the issue with the pocket I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it yet again and got out my sewing kit.

Peacoat
The shell of the peacoat is nice and heavy duty. The pocket lining is of poor quality and has torn within three weeks of use. For the cost of the coat I expect higher quality lined pockets.
