Comfortable and stylish
I looked at a lot of coats, wanting something light enough for fall and spring but warm enough, with layering, for winter. And it had to look good. This met all those criteria. It fits just right. And it does indeed repel water, but within feeling like I’m wearing a plastic bag.

Fine practical jacket
Got this for husband because he wanted a durable jacket without a hood. For winter work he wears a down vest underneath; the jacket's insulation is not as effective as he would like. He misses the ribbed wrist liner that was a feature of his old worn-out jacket; it helped keep cold and moisture out of sleeves. Otherwise, he is satisfied with sizing, fit, and color.

Poor design
Bad fit for me. 5'9", 155 lbs. It might work for a 250+ lb man. It was wide opened at the bottom, leaving the wind blowing up under the jacket.

Great jacket but awkward sizing (for me at least)
I tried this jacket in a L and XL (5’11” 195 lbs athletic build) but neither fit great. L is my true size but it fits tightly in the chest, shoulders and back and definitely not enough room to layer. Meanwhile the XL solves those issues but left an insane amount of extra room in the stomach. Maybe I’m an outlier but the fit is really awkward which is rare considering how my other LL Bean jackets have been great for me. Otherwise the jacket quality, style, and functionally are truly 10/10, but unfortunately I can’t make it work for me due to the fit.
