Disappointed
I bought this bag for my daughter in 7th grade. Told her we’d spend the money for a quality bag that will hopefully last her into high school! She is now in 8th grade. We first replaced the bag after a month because the water bottle holder had a hole form real fast. LL Bean was quick to respond and replace. But when a second hole formed in her replacement bag, I had my daughter just live with it. But NOW her strap is ripping too! Very pretty bag with great space for all her things. But the bag does not hold up.

Doesn’t hold up like the Original Bookpack
My son had his Original Bookpack from Kindergarten through 5th grade and it still looks new! I got this Deluxe model for the extra space and pockets as he entered middle school expecting it to last us through college. Already the mesh water bottle pockets are ripping and we’re not even halfway through the school year! To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. L.L.Bean, PLEASE make this bookpack with SOLID CANVAS WATER BOTTLE POCKETS like the Original Bookpack!!

A little disappointed
My son is on his 6th year of his backpack and it’s still going strong so I decided to order 2 for my 5th graders. They have only been using them maybe 2 weeks and one of the mesh pockets is already coming apart of the top seam! Very disappointing!

Normally these book bags are great but the last one I bought has the loop broke after one week of use. My daughter says she is required to hang it by the loop at school so she can’t use it anymore.
