Good size for middle schooler
Good size for a middle schooler who carries a large binder, a laptop, PE gear, snacks, etc. It is easy to get items in and out of the main pocket of the backpack...which was not the case with his previous backpack.

Deluxe bookpack
Love this backpack! The color is beautiful, moon light blue. These packs are so versatile and durable. I have bought one for every member of my family. They all still have them and use them. Some of them are close to 15 years old! Money well spent, a great value.

Lacking durability
My daughter got this backpack for Christmas in December 2021. Less than three years later, the mesh water bottle pockets are ripping. She is extremely careful with her things, very responsible and not rough on backpacks. This is absolutely not the quality I have come to appreciate from LL Bean over my many years of purchasing. I have had this same model of backpack of my own in purple for literally 31 years. It is still going strong. So to have one be falling apart after less than three years is very disappointing.

Quality school backpack
My 5th grader needed a bigger backpack this year. He was happy to use my 1998 version of this backpack until his new one arrived. I like the updates made: tech pocket and water bottle holder. But the construction appears to still be high quality. Hopefully his will last as long as mine!

Versatile backpack
The backpack's adjustability for moving the center of gravity to match the distributed weight of packed items is great. I also appreciate the expansive packing ability. The only annoying factor is how the hanging loop can catch on shirt collars.

Great for Travel- carry-on
Great to use as a carry-on piece. Place for laptop and plenty of additional room for books, cosmetics, clothes, whatever. I use it as my second carry-on.
