Great coat but huge hood
I like this coat very much, but I miss the chest pockets they decided to leave off, and the hood is ginormous!--possibly sized so a knit cap would fit under it? I don't know, but my head is on the small size anyway and when adjusted to fit, the hood makes a huge, unattractive lump on top of my head. I have other Bean jackets and coats, and always have to adjust the hoods, but not this much! The picture on the site doesn't begin to suggest how big it is. Otherwise a very nice coat. I got the burgundy mainly because I have so many navy coats and jackets, didn't really care for the color, but it's grown on me since last year. My suggestions: add chest pockets and reduce the hood size, and you'd have a very nice, very warm winter parka. Also would like more color choices--green and brown would be good.

My favorite winter jacket
I’ve had a similar one for years and still receive compliments. It has served me well but I wanted to change from blue to red. Glad they still make it. Just hope they don’t stop.

Review of Parka
It is a good fit with a sweater but no chest pockets and not as warm as my previous one. I got a large size. I am 5’ 4” and about 135 lbs. I am outside a lot for work . Located in Maryland. I will keep it because I love the color and can always use a wool sweater if needed.

Purchase History
By far, the best jacket I have ever purchased. I have had the jacket since 2021 and about to get the jacket under this one . Don’t wear jacket when it’s in the 30s you definitely will break out in a sweat. 😓

Didn’t keep me warm.
I liked the style and all the pockets it has but it was only 40 degrees when I went outside and I had goosebumps. This did not keep me warm at all.

Loved previous version of the Rugged Ridge Parka!
I had bought a Rugged Ridge 3-in-1 parka +20 years ago. I missed the versatility of having a shell, a fleece, then combining it to have the warmth of the parka. If I was more active when outside, I could take off a layer to cool me down. Or if I needed a warm rain jacket, I just used the outer shell. The number one f pockets, placement, and lining within the pockets was ideal as well. I know LLBean has to sell more products to make money, but that was the most efficient and comfortable winter jacket I have ever had. I, unfortunately, wore it out, but so loved the design, I am reticent to commit to a 1-layer parka. Please bring back the 3-in-1 parkas!!!
