Very Weird Fit
I’m 5’ tall. 102 lbs. The XS petite were too tight in the lower legs so I bought S petite Yes these are very thin and not nearly as warm as my old ones from that silk company that went out of business. But the bizarre sizing is what I really don’t understand. Sixteen inch rise! I can pull them up to my armpits. Forty-two inch hips (at the widest point just above the crotch)! This large amount of fabric is gathered into the waistband to make a big balloon that has to be tucked into my pants. What a mess. The cuffs are very tight and the thighs are a bit baggy but those things are not too bothersome. The upper part is a disaster. Don’t buy if you are at all petite.

Those cold weather must haves
I buy a couple pair every winter, because I use them almost daily. North Dakota winters are cold! You can’t beat the wonderful silk LLBean long underwear pants if you need to be outside. Going in and out of stores shopping, shoveling snow…they’re just the best. I’m warm, you don’t feel them, my jeans just slide over them with ease.

Paper thin and stick to your legs
If I had know how thin these were I would have never bought them. They are like baggy nylons. It needs to be in product description how thin they are. For the price, they are not a good buy

Almost a Why Bother
Bought these for myself and my daughter. I needed to replenish a supply I purchased 30+ years ago (brand no longer available). I was sure LLBean would be a reliable source. These silks are less than tissue paper thin, and have a design that allows more air through. They are barely helpful indoors. Frustrated, I did a test outdoors: one leg with the silk on; the other leg, with the silk just hanging down the pant leg. No difference. Truly a let down. My other comment is the waistband. It's okay if wearing elastic waist pants. However, I could not wear them with my dress slacks (waistband, zipper and button); the thick, bulky waistband gets in the way and I could not button my slacks. Judging from other comments, folks expect these will last only a few seasons. I've always relied on my LLBean items as a main stay, and have never been disappointed. I do hope LLBean notices this and at the very least, will offer a heavier (perhaps mid-weight) alternative, without a bulky waist.
