Product Details

Polarized sunglasses can cause the images on cell phones, GPS units, computers and other gadgets to be distorted and hard-to-see. These sunglasses solve that problem with nonpolarized lenses plus a built-in bifocal magnifier.

  • Lightweight CR39 plastic lenses.
  • Grilamid TR-90 flexible frame.
  • Provide 100% UVA/UVB protection from the sun's harmful rays, exceeding industry standards.
  • Patented design places the magnifier in a lower position.
  • Nonpolarized lenses won't distort the screen readouts of cell phones, GPS units and other gadgets.
  • Available in three magnifications: 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 (1.5 is the least magnification, 2.5 the greatest).
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprised without the Polarized lens I didn't realize when I first purchased these glasses they were not polarized. However, after reading other comments I realized maybe I don't need them wearing my scleral lens. These are actually my go to sunglasses while driving or other activities. Much better to see without the polarization when looking at my cell phone. The sale price was fantastic. Great glasses. I only wish the frame around the eyes was slightly larger for my face, but not a big deal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bifocal Sunglasses First of all, I didn’t notice that these were bifocals until after purchasing them, which was a big letdown. Then I assumed that the bifocal sections of the lenses would be solely at the bottom of the lenses, and that they could be easily looked over. However, that’s not the case, as they take up about half the lense, and they are impossible to over look. There isn’t even a need for the bifocal section, because it doesn’t magnify anything at all. These would be awesome sunglasses if it weren’t for those bifocal sections.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from They're good if they're what you need. I needed sunglasses and use readers at the available strength, and have been assured by people in the know that these are really really cool, like my CD collection. I like the fact that the magnification section doesn't impede upon the sunglasses lens, or is that sunglass lenses? Either way I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them if you wanted to be cool, too.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I bought these precisely because they have the bifocal, which I need over my contact lenses. However, the reading area is so small that it will aid me in threading a needle, but not much more. Certainly not enough reading area to read a book, magazine, or my phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good pair of bifocal sunglasses I ordered these sunglasses after losing my pair of LLBean polarized bifocal sunglasses. These are not polarized. I found them on sale and some reviews noted they might better for reading and that the only benefit of polarized glasses was to eliminate glare. I haven't worn these much yet but they are comfortable, filter our bright sun, and the reading window is large enough to help with fine print.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from "Reader" v "Bifocal" As of 10/09/2024 this product is listed online as "Adults' Gadget Reader Sunglasses." If you look really close (and don't need better glasses) you can see in the product photo that they are actually what are commonly referred to as "bifocals." The important distinction is this: Bifocals have lenses of different strengths which correct both close up and distance vision, while readers have a single vision lens of a certain magnification. Unlike the online description, the box this product comes in clearly states what they are: Bifocals. (Actually says "Performance Bifocals," which means… what, exactly?) I really wish they were readers because I would love to have a pair of readers this stylish and comfortable. Seems aging folk like me (matured past CK decades ago) have long been the target demographic of LL. So why doesn't the Bean know the difference between "readers" and "bifocals" by now?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for short reading tasks outside -- not novels Glasses are great! The "reader" part of the lens is small -- these glasses are not for reading books outdoors -- but they would be perfect if you needed to check your phone or a map during your time outdoors.
