These expert craftspeople meticulously brush our Scotch Plaid fabric eight times on each side to create a long-lasting material with that distinctive smooth and cozy feel. But that doesn't automatically make it plush enough. It still needs to pass the "touch test." Only a master weaver can declare it soft enough.

Disappointing
The women's royal red scotch plaid flannel shirt pilled and shrank after two washings!
The shirts from past years have held up beautifully but the 2024 fabrics have been a big disappointment. We depend on LL Bean to offer quality first.

Snuggly flannel shirt
Excellent snuggly shirt! Sleeve length is good, and cuff can be snug or loose with adjustable buttons. Washes well and is soft fabric. Good shirt for layering over tanks or shirts.

The best
The flannel is soft, the fit is roomy without being bulky. Because it’s available in petites, the sleeves are not too long. I have sensitive skin so cannot wear sweaters. I live in LL Bean flannel shirts in the winter time. With cute jeans I still feel nicely dressed.
