Nice transition coat
I haven't washed it yet, but so far I love this. It's very comfortable and a nice fit. Given the materials, it's on the heavy side for a medium weight coat, but it's a good layer in the fall weather.

Not sure about this one
It's a beautiful barncoat but does run on the large side. The lining is not really flannel, more of a cotton which was disappointing since I wanted a bit more lining for warmth.

Popular Jacket for Fall
I've been wearing the LL Bean Barn Coat for at least 20 years. Obviously I love it. My most recent order is a replacement and I'm so happy to know that according to several "What's Hot this Fall" lists, I'm finally one of the cool kids. Classically comfortable
Classically comfortable and well made. Generously sized to fit a sweater underneath, comfortable, moves with you. It’s possible to size down if you want a fitted jacket but I like the option of layering and size seems accurate for this. Feel like I’ll have it for years.

Great multi-purpose coat
Fantastic "staple" jacket that goes with everything and for every purpose: walking the dog? Lots of pockets for your dog stuff. Going shopping? Two buttoned pockets to hold your $$. Just need to be warm and still fashionable? Yes, it does that! The dark khaki color is what you see, there is a review that says it is more of a cream (??) but I wondered if she was reviewing the wrong item? I am 5'9" and 160lbs, usually a size 10/large but went with a medium and it is a good fit with one or two (thinner) layers underneath. This is a great jacket which will last for years.
