Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made with heavy duty materials. This parka is very warm and very, very well made. Heavy duty fabrics and construction. However, the pockets are not placed for putting one's hands in to keep warm. The bottom pockets are too low and the upper pockets open in the wrong direction. Nevertheless, if you wear gloves, it will keep you warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I’ve owned two of them The first one that I had was an older style but still had most of the items this one has but after about eight years the down didn’t have the loft it had when I purchased it. Beans traded me that one for this newer one about six years ago and I’ve been wearing it ever since. Down has held its loft and it’s still just like the day I took it out of the package. You’ll never go wrong with this parka. All the storage needed and made from the best materials for hunting, camping or dealing with the most extreme weather conditions. One of the best parkas available and Beans will stand behind it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat! I bought this for my partner who usually wears a size medium. It runs a little large on him even allowing for a bulky sweater underneath. But apart from the slightly large sizing, this is an incredible coat. He loves all of the pockets and the versatility--there's also a removable snow shield that zips onto the inside of the gortex layer. And it's been very warm for the 10-15 degree weather that we've been having. I can see how as only a raincoat, the gortex layer might be a little awkward in the summer since the hood is insulated as well. But for the winter it's working out great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable Coat! I bought this jacket years ago, and it took me a while to actually decide to spend the significant amount of money it cost. From day one after buying it, I knew I made the right decision, without any doubt. I live in Maine, and winters can be chilly. For instance one night I went to take my dog out for his nightly walk, and it was -22 degrees, before figuring for wind chill. Yes, 22 below zero! I wore this jacket with just a tee shirt underneath and I was just as warm as if I was inside. Obviously I had quality gloves and other suitable clothing on as well, (from Beans too). I continue to wear it on the coldest days, but on days when the temp is over 30-35 degrees, it tends to be too much, at least for me. I've worn it while snowblowing my 400 foot driveway, while walking in the woods with the deer, and after about 6-8 years it's still like the day I bought it. No tears or rips, it's a very durable jacket. Although I do take care of it and try to not wear it when there is a chance it could get damaged. Other than my suit, it's the most I've ever spent on clothing, but also the best investment I've made and I would buy it again it I needed it. The warmest coat you will probably find at LL Beans, and most likely the warmest you will ever need unless climbing in Nepal!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from NEEDS INSIDE PHONE POCKET I bought this coat 1 year ago and wear it whenever it gets down to zero or below. Keeps me super warm, even at minus 30 degrees. I would give it 5 stars if it had an inside cell phone pocket. Description says it has two inside zipper pockets; but it does not. It has one small inside pocket down low with a valco closure tab; but pocket will not fit an Apple IPhone. There is one large inside zipper pocket down low below the waist where cold air creeps in. This pocket will not keep the IPhone warm enough to prevent battery drain. LLBean needs to redesign the coat to include an inside zippered cell phone pocket at chest height to keep the phone battery warm and prevent discharging when below zero.
