This rugged 4-piece fishing rod case features the same traditional waxed cotton canvas used for our Field Coat, popular since the 1930s.

Sturdy bag to transport with confidence
The bag securely holds three rod tubes with looped wide elastic straps, securely held within the padded zippered
Case. Outside padded pockets are also zippered however the magnetic faux buckle is only cosmetic and does not add any security. Zippers are of great quality.
The strong leather shoulder carrying straps and associated brass coupling has a clever pouch outside in which straps tucks in neatly. The position of these straps comfortably allows you to carry the bag.
The stitching is very strong and it deserves the LLBean label because it is quality..
The waxed outer layer is very sturdy however it has a weathered look and I wondered if it was a returned product. Otherwise I would have given the bag a 5

Snaps should be as robust as the rest of the bag.
The case itself is well made, but the magnetic snap closure on the two outside pocket flaps is too small and weak to stay “snapped”. The pockets zip closed under the flap so the reel is contained, but the flaps are gonna flap which is a bit annoying, especially at this price point.

Useless unless you also buy something solid to support bag and protect rods from breaking if used for checking baggage.

LL Bean travel rod case
Great fit for three rods and their respective rod cases. Plenty of room for three reels as well. Excellent carry on travel bag with the quality and craftsmanship that have attracted weekend adventures to LL Bean products for years.

Functional Fixedness
Many years ago I read an article about functional fixedness. That is believing an object is only good for one function. It is to be avoided. So I found this case designed for fishing rods to be the perfect case for my tripod. It is beautifully padded and has two lovely pockets for extras. Absolutely brilliant!
