For over 80 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

Poorly made — plaid is mismatched
I have been buying LL Bean flannel shirts for years for my husband. This shirt is the first one that is not up to standard. The plaid lines are completely mismatched — not even close.

Classic flannel with many pairing options
This brushed flannel is perfect for the upcoming cool and cold seasons. The sizing allows for layering and the colors in the plaid allow for many of the underlayer options available from Bean also. Winner!

Usual quality but…
Wonderful soft flannel. Fit is good. Only complaint is that it’s linger than my former LLBean xxl flannels and looks a little awkward untucked and hanging so low.
