A feels-good coat
This is a replacement for an early one that is much too large due to weight loss from my fight with cancer. Size medium fits well over a fleece sweater or fleece shirt as I hade hoped. Used to be 6'. Now bent over and about 115 lbs. Pockets are great for wallet, keys, phone etc. when wearing draw string pants. Too many surgeries for a snug belt to hold up jeans.

Perfect Coat
Finally a coat so versatile, comfortable, not stiff, no zipper to reach for, breathable, and a loose fit for layering from windy mid 50F's wearing short sleeves to blowing below freezing with a sweater, or LLBean flannel shirt. A perfect car coat with the bottom button undone..."Hello" the button threads are long and loose to make it easy to button and unbutton them...well done Bean. The bottom pockets are perfect for a pair of gloves so that they don't fall out at the store, and the upper two hand warmer pockets are easy access for car and house keys. And Thank You LLBean for the Traditional Fit XXX Large sizing!!!!!

Man! It keeps me warm!
I had this coat in a larger size years ago. However, I lost a considerable amount of weight so I bought this one in a smaller size. It was a great coat back then and it is a great coat now. It keeps me nice and warm plus I love the pockets.

It didn’t work out so well
I was looking to replace my FAVORITE light jacket that I had for 30 years. Yeah, that’s a long time. It’s nothing special but got compliments anyway. So comfortable I could wear it at the dinner table and not think anything of it but it was a little worn and needed an update. I ordered a medium, which had been a perfect fit, but in the new one I was just swamped so I re-ordered a size small. This size “fit” me but the cut is just goofy. The shoulders tugged and bunched, even though it seemed to have plenty of room. My wife just said it doesn’t look good. It wasn’t comfortable. I was never gonna wear it. That’s too bad.

Neither size med. or small a good fit
Medium too large and small too small. I settled on the small because the medium swam on me although all of my clothes are size medium. I am 5'9" and 160 lbs. I kept the small as the best I could do but am am disappointed after purchasing this expensive barn coat.

It’s just not the same.
This coat was a Christmas gift for my husband which arrived in January. He has owned this same coat for many, many years and it needed to be replaced. As with many things, you expect to receive the same coat as the one you purchased long ago and unfortunately this wasn’t the case. This newer version fits larger and the beloved removable lining is no longer there having been replaced by a flannel sewn-in lining. I will see if I can attach the old lining by using snaps that I sew in. So although the coat is of excellent quality, it’s just not the same.
