Stretch fabric always does. Stretch, that is.
These pants were perfect when I first donned them . . . and then after a couple of hours they completely bagged out and felt a couple of sizes too big. I thought maybe a washing would shrink them a little and solve the problem. it didn't. I am returning the pants because they are so loose as to be uncomfortable after a couple of hours wear time. Very disappointing. I'll try a smaller size because I really like the style, but don't hold out much hope.

Dark navy washed well, super comfy; can roll up.
Love these pants. I should be size 8.. I'm 5'4" 147 lb with hips but slenderish waist- but was gifted a size 10. It's roomy in the hips, needs belt for waist, but I love the pockets, dark blue and how nice they washed up.. didn't seem to shrink but I used medium heat. Love how I can roll them up for strolling by a shore. I could've prolly done an 8 but I prefer relaxed fit. Hope that helps someone deciding!

Mis-marked size on pants and plastic bag?
I ordered the Alloy Gray, Carbon Navy, and Dark French Gray (Regular, 8). The Alloy Gray and Dark French Gray fit perfectly, just like jeans I have ordered in the same size. The Carbon Navy, however, are a full inch larger in the waist and hips; essentially making them a size 10 but with size 8 labels, including on the plastic bag they came in. I would like a true size 8 in the Carbon Navy color. Do I order a size 6 and assume all pants in this color are a size off? Or do I reorder a size 8 and assume just the pair sent me is a size off?

Comfort Stretch pants Straight leg
I have worn 3 pairs of Comfort Stretch, Straight Leg pants 6-7 days a week since 2020. As a backyard landscaper, the fit is perfect. Would only suggest the pant be made of the same tighter weave as the kneepads.

My New Favorite Pants! I love the soft fabric and durable. It’s true to size. Roomy in the thighs area. I like the style. I’m 5’9” I ordered med/tall I’m glad I did. Perfect length for me. I’m thinking of ordering another pair. Give them a try.

A Cross Between Cargos & Chinos
I have been wearing Bean Stretch Canvas Cargo Pants for some years now. I finally ordered some of its cousin, the Comfort Stretch Cargo Pants. I didn’t really understand the difference between the pair until I saw them. The main difference is the material. The Stretch Canvas are made with a lighter, coarser material. The Comfort Cargos are made with a heavier, softer twill blend, which look and feel like a well-worn pair of chinos. Also, The legs on the Stretch Canvas are more narrow than the Comfort Cargos.
I love them both. I especially love the Barley color, which was surprising as I thought they looked a little odd on the web site.
I have a few pairs of the Lined Stretch Canvas Cargos. It would be nice if Besn offered the Comfort Cargos lined with flannel or even fleece.
