We've redesigned our best pack ever. It's been updated with new, durable recycled main body fabric, tough 600D Kodra bottom and a rugged 210D nylon lining. A new top lid pocket is perfect for electronics or sunglasses. Front pocket is equipped with two side-release closures instead of a zipper for easier access. Well made and feature-rich
This bag is very well made and well-thought out. I actually used it to carry gear plus a tripod. I put the tripod legs into the outer pocket, and tied off the top part of the tripod with a velcro strap threaded through the top pocket straps. Worked very well. One thing I didn't realize is that there is zipper access to the entire back side of the pack, between the part that touches your back and the main bag. You could put something thin and flat in there, keeping in mind that it will rest against your back.

This bag is not worth the price
I bought one about 1.5 years ago and wasn't used too often.
Last year i noticed that the waist straps we starting to rip on both sides. I showed a representative at the LLBEAN Barrie store and he also said that there should be more support.
Brought the bag into LLBEAN and they said they wouldn't deal with this manufactures issue.

Exceptional in build and design. A real keeper!
Exceptional in build and design. The pockets are large and useful. I've purchased three rucksacks and everybody likes them. Waist belt could be wider (for us hefty people) but it's a minor issue. This may well be the last backpack you will ever need. I take it on all our trips with the grand children and it fits neatly under aircraft seats.

Roomier than expected
Recently was going on a dove hunting trip to Texas, and want to pack as light as possible. I bought both this ruck sack as well as the larger version to see which would suit me better. I was surprised that this pack fit the bill. I was able to pack everything I needed (including my 10” Maine Hunting Boots) in this pack. Granted, it was full, but it wasn’t busting at the seams. As to the larger version, I returned it, but only because it was a bit too large for my use case. As always, LL Bean gear is great.

This is just the right size for carry-on, packing for a couple of days. Outside pockets have good space for odds and ends.

Not as good as OG.
I had the original rucksack (and still do) but the interior started to flake so I bought the latest version and it is nothing like the OG. The flaps used for the pockets are cut so narrowly that the pockets no longer hold 1L Nalgene bottles. I love the colorways but this bag won't see much use and I won't be getting another.
