5++ STARS: Feeling the stiff, “crinkly” sound of my Gore-Tex Pro patroller hardshell ski jacket, brought a huge smile to my face, because I knew it was absolutely bombproof protection. I couldn’t wait to try it out as I rode up the skylift to the top of A-Basin mountain. As I unloaded from the lift at over 13,050 feet and worked my way over to the Pallavicini ski slope, the Arctic cold Rocky Mountain bone-chilling winds/snow blast hit us dead-center/center mass, and I felt unbelievably warm and protected, no wind/cold penetrated. WOW, impressive to say the least. As we ski’d down to the bottom, this hardshell excelled in protection in every measurable way. Absolutely rock solid in waterproof, windproof, and very breathable as we were exhausted from skiing from the top to the bottom of the ski runs all day long. The under-arm ventilation zips helped dump a lot of heat out during our skiing. Love the two hand pockets, 2 chest pockets, arm pass pocket, 2 inside pockets to store everything I had on me, plus the elastic cuffs covering your wrists. The snow-skirt kept the snow and wind from coming up my back while riding up the lift and skiing down. Excellent fit and looks great (really, this is a very good looking hardshell because it is slightly fitted, like a suit), love the small LLBean logo on the center back/top of the jacket and the side logo near the arm pocket. The hood was perfect with or without my ski helmet, had a lot of adjustments to tighten my hood to my head without the helmet. This hardshell will be my 4-season jacket to wear during the summer downpours, spring/fall thunderstorms or when I go out to the lake/ocean boating!! This is the perfect hard-shell for every season. I was looking at hardshells from the most expensive $920.00+, the price of this hardshell was, unbelievable, a Bargain (got a 15% discount with LLBean). This hardshell will always be packed in my day backpack for work or trips everywhere, it will always be with me. This hardshell is not for the city slicker who wants to stay inside the lodge next to the fire, but for the mountaineer who wants to survive above arctic cold timberline and the harsh/bitter Atlantic rain/cold weather. LLBean ROCKS!!

LL Bean Billboard
Stiff fabric, but nice jacket. Don't mind a small name or logo on the chest, back, hem, arm, etc. but don't want an LL Bean billboard on my arm. I have many LL Bean items which I very much like, but I think this was a mistake.

Love the jacket beautiful... Also great price for what is offer in comparison to others brands. However my draw string pulled out from the jack with very light use owning it for a month...

Perfect Jacket
Bought the GORE-TEX Pro Patroller Jacket primarily to wear for skiing. Plenty of pockets to carry items like cell phone, car keys, wallet, ski pass etc. Hood is sized to fit over a helmet. The jacket being made with Gore-Tex waterproofing keeps you dry on wet snowy days.
