Hiking polesPurchased for my husband to walk outside to strengthen his left leg. They add freedom and flexibility more so than a cane.

Value-priced 4 Season TrekkersGood quality, no-frills trekking poles. Baskets a bit loose, but have stayed in place for a couple of treks. Using with rubber tips (another brand) as the tips included are hard plastic and seem to be intended for shipping. Handles and straps are entry-level but serve their purpose OK. Lower shaft tapers toward the tip and the instructions on the shaft advise "extend to here" where the shaft is a greater diameter, and fully extended. This may present a challenge clamping when collapsed down for packing. (Too loose at this position).

Hiking PolesThey are a good choice for me. They are good for off pavement as well as on pavement (using the extra cost adapters).

Happy with new hiking piles. The 4 season hiking poles were great! My husband and I had never used piles hiking before and they were very helpful on the trail to Arethusa Falls in NH. I had thought they would be cumbersome, but we each used one and it was very helpful on both the absent and the descent from the falls.

would not purchase againI bought these to use primarily as ski poles. I put the baskets for the snow on them as direction noted. They seemed secure. With in 2 days they both fell off and were lost.

Not dependableInstead of nuts you can tighten, these poles adjust with screws that you need a screwdriver to tighten. Who carries a screwdriver around with them when hiking? Even when tightened the bottom section of the pole collapsed.
