Product Details

Generations of customers have turned to our authentic ragg wool sweaters for exceptional warmth, classic good looks and an incredible price. Our comfortable crewneck is expertly knit from exceptionally soft, premium lambswool.

  • Falls at hip.
  • Slightly Fitted: Softly shapes the body.

Our sweater is crafted from 100% premium lambswool yarns that are richly textured and noticeably softer than competitors' versions. In fact, it's practically impossible to find other ragg sweaters made without using lesser wool-blend yarns. Each of our ragg wool sweaters is designed stitch by stitch with time-honored styling and details that come straight from our archives.

  • In a midweight knit specially chosen for substantial winter warmth without bulkiness.
  • 100% lambswool.
  • Handwash and dry flat, or dry clean.
  • Ribbed trim.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cut a bit Small I am 5'4' 135-140 lbs, and very short waisted. I am not large busted, but I am broad across the back. In Tees, I frequently buy large to accommodate shrinking. I originally ordered this in a large for same reason, but when I got it, it was way too big -- fits me like a loose tunic. I decided to try a medium That fits like it should through the trunk , slightly fitted and very flattering, but its a bit tight across the shoulders where the seam is, and under arms, a feeling I hate and I am afraid it will give out with day-to-day activities. And that was without anything on under it. It really needs a tad more width, and would have been perfect with about an inch where the seam is. I bought it for winter travel plans and layering, so will keep the large, but it is definitely a "relaxed" look and not the least bit fitted on me. I bought the undyed and that is a great neutral - works wth blue, lack and grey bottoms.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rough wool fabric and poor fitting Poor fitting all around. Not a nice hand considering it is wool. No I wouldn't recommend this item. Outdoor recreation - prefer wool but this is poorly cut for layering. Sleeves too tight and did shorten when washed per your precise instructions. Very disappointed. I used to buy these many years ago and they wore well - they were my go to sweater. I'm trying to minimize my fossil fuel clothing in my closets. I feel like L..L. Bean is cutting corners and falling prey to fossil fuel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy and warm! Soft, cozy, and well-made! This sweater keeps me warm on those chilly New England days!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cozy warm for our Pacific NW damp winters. I love the wool, the color, the fit. Its not baggy and hangs well. I am surprised that there is already pilling on the sleeves; I have washed it only once and worn it 4 times. I followed washing instructions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy!! This sweater is a winner! It’s cozy, it’s comfy, and it’s traditional! I still have (and wear) an LL Bean wool crew neck from the 70s, but I really like the updated color of this new one!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very nice but neck too thick at neck. Nice fabric but didn't like the too thick fabric at neck. Nice look. Felt warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basic, warm and cozy Basic, warm and cozy. I wanted a wool sweater to replace a beloved LL Bean ragg wool v-neck sweater I've had for years. The color is nice enough, but not snazzy. I would have preferred a cardigan, but they don't come in petite ):

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not like last year's ragg sweater I bought the charcoal ragg sweater last year and wore it nonstop across winter and into spring. I was thrilled when I saw the oatmeal and green colors that came out this year and ordered both right away. Both had a VERY strong chemical smell but figured that would go away after washing. I hand washed with the Eucalan wool wash (as I do.all my wool clothing) and dried on a sweater rack. After washing, the smell was gone but the sweaters had lost some of their shape, particularly noticeable in the hem, and both were fuzzier than they started. This has never happened with the charcoal sweater from last year. Disappointing and, sadly, I can't recommend these.
