Nice but runs small
Nice style but runs small. since it can't be run thru a dryer you need to keep an eye out when cleaning.

My go-to baselayer for the CO Rockies!
As an avid hiker all around Colorado, this is my go-to baselayer for the cold season. 250 wool is too hot for me personally when I'm working hard. Imo, 150 offers the perfect amount of warmth and breathibility as you're gunning for an ambitious objective where both are of utmost importance. Fit is what a baselayer should be: form-fitting in a way that doesn't impede movement. The "hood" is better described as a built in balaclava. It's superb for a day in the mountains, but probably more than you need for just a cold day running errands in the city. Other brands typically charge this much minus the hood. This baselayer's performance in the field is indistinguishable from my more expensive 150s. Find it on sale and this one can't be beat! Worth buying multiple!

Sadly disproportioned
The fabric is perfect, the idea is brilliant, the proportions and execution however falls way short. I’m 5’8”, 170 lbs, of average torso and limbs, and I’m active, trim, and fit. I usually wear medium but I bought a large so as not to feel constricted. The shirt fits well in the chest and arms but the body length is at least 2 inches too short!! When I raise my arms, the hem uncovers my belly button! And this is a size large!! Also, while the hood is a great idea, and one of the reasons I bought this shirt, it’s so tight and constricting around my face that I can’t really use it… It’s more like a tight wetsuit hood than a comfortable baselayer. I would appreciate hearing from ll bean on this one.

Fits well.
This fits well on a athletic body, if you are overweight it will not fit the way its supposed to.

Functional, great length and looks great!
Pefect "in between" layer for me on a very cold and/or damp day. I can wear a silk type base layer and put this right on top then add something else. I like to buy mens outerwear because I find it runs longer and I like the extra coverage. Hood is excellent and color is beautiful!

Running - great layer with a hooded shell jacket
For running, I wore this under my Bean 1/4 zip, midweight, merino wool layer at 25 F (-4 Celsius) today. Both were under a fully mesh-lined, hooded shell.
The ultralight XL fits my sleeve length (34-35 inches) perfectly. The body length is wide for my 6' 1", 175 pound frame but it is worn under other layers anyway.
The lightweight hood is fantastic under my shell jacket's hood and the lightweight's hood opening can go under my chin or over my lip. When not covering my head, the hood doubles as a neck warmer. This is a great replacement for my old, worn-out, LL Bean silk turtleneck base layer.
In eastern Ontario's cold (I run outdoors to minus 15 C), I can wear a beanie under the lightweight hoodie or a balaclava on top of the hoodie and I can add more layers under my shell jacket.
