With care I hope it lasts.
Based on reviews I bought large for husband who is 5’8” 155lbs and it fits loosely but not too big. I think if I got medium it would have been too tight especially if it shrunk.
I bought him one about 10 years ago and it shrunk and twisted right away even with cold water gentle wash and line dry in the shade. It also got a small hole within a year.
So far (only a couple months) it’s better than the first one.
The best thing is it doesn’t itch and it doesn’t hold odor like other fabrics.

Great First Layer
Great First Layer Thin and light and warm. Caution-I wear a Med -Large but after 1 wash my med was too small (My wife likes it though) so I bought 2 more in a large and they are perfect. 5’10” 180#s.

Top notch
Comfortable, and so much better to run in than synthetics. And a real value to boot.

Size runs small, torso is short, and strong smell
I have other merino wool shirts that work much better than this. I found the medium was way too form fitting, so exchanged for a large. The large is better as it is at least 4 inches bigger through the chest. But the short length makes me think they built this on a budget, it needs at least another 2-3 inches to have any hope of staying tucked in (which would be the most common use as a base layer.
I have two other substantial concerns. First, it doesn't appear to be durable. The care guidelines are to wash on delicate and line dry. The collar took on a wrinkle after the first wash and it looks like the fabric may start pilling soon. Speaking of wash, there was a very strong wet-wool odor when we opened the machine. And I could sense that smell coming back as I was sweating in it during a workout. Part of choosing a natural fiber is to avoid my scent from clinging, this one brings its own instead.

These shirts really are the greatest of all time. Of all the Bean shirts I have worn, these have stood the test of time....and travel. This shirt is supposed to be a base layer, but I use it as the only layer in the summer, especially when traveling. The construction is not flimsy but high quality and feels so soft on the skin. Wool is the best temperature regulator for fabric, so it works in all environments. I went up a size so I could wear it more of a casual t. True to size makes it too form fitting. I would make these shirts (sustainably sourced wool) for everyday and add more colors, and a bit more room.
