Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delightful Merino Wool layer! The merino wool material these Cresta midweight "long johns" are made of are deliciously delightful -- so cozy and warm. I also have purchased the top and I love wearing them in this cold snap we are having in the PNW. Also wear them winter camping. Highly recommend. I even have used the top as my pj top because I could not bear to take it off because it is so comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for skiing I wore these for 4 days of skiing in sub-freezing temperatures; just this base layer and ski pants kept me warm. Very comfortable and not itchy. I just wish you offered a Tall size like with the Men's pants because these were several inches too short on me (5'9", 180, size L)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect comfort and warmth These are so comfortable and warm and perfectly suited for walking and hiking with my dog. They have kept me warm as toast in 7 degrees with the wind blowing and happy lounging around d between dashing outside with the puppy. Just what I wanted and needed and a pretty color to boot!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fit but a little itchy This base layer is a nice weight and fit but for me, it was a little itchy. I ended up returning it but was happy with the synthetic base layer tights instead.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sizing/fit seems a little off LL Bean sizing is a bit odd, medium being closer to a large, but I had difficulty getting it right w/these pants. I'm a 12, so I initially ordered a medium, but fit of waistband around my navel was uncomfortably tight. More comfortable pulled up to my natural waist, which I believe is closer to intended fit, but then they dug uncomfortably into my crotch. I exchanged for a large, the waistband fits more comfortably, but the thighs are baggy. They still work as an baselayer underneath clothes, just not something that can double as form-fitting leggings like I hoped. A bit of sagging from looser fit as well. Length is fine. Maybe the M works well for a 10, but if you're a 12 and chunkier in the stomach/waist/thighs (or maybe have a long torso?), consider going a size up. Just be aware that the leg fit will also be much looser. In terms of warmth, these worked well, extending the life of my crops. Looking forward to trying them out under my Columbia trail pants during a winter hike. As a legging, not sure they would be sufficient in freezing temps, but probably fine down to 50-degrees.
