Comfortable, waterproof, great grip, looks great.
We bought these as his dressier casual shoes. No problem breaking them in, and they look nice. Also, we packed poorly for a trip to the Scottish highlands, and they ended up being hiking shoes in the rain and rocks. They held up great!

Looks over comfort?
I haven't completely given up hope yet, but when I wore them around the house they were very stiff and uncomfortable and dug in in too many places. The tongue is bizarrely stiff and painful? I love the style, and was hoping they'd be good travel shoes (smart/casual) but right now I'm just waiting until I give them one more trial...we shall see...

Nice looking, sturdy, practical.
Versatile boots: last week we went to Powderhorn ski resort during a winter storm and I stomped around in snow and slush without getting my feet wet. This week we went hiking in the hills near Colorado National Monument and I was impressed with the traction on steep climbs. And they look good with chinos too.
Be warned: the boot tongue is brutal until it gets broken in. After that they're pretty comfy.

Stonington Chukka Boot Leather Men's
These have always been one of my husband's favorites. His last pair wore out a few years ago. When he saw these his eyes lit up. I absolutely had to get them for him for Christmas. He was as happy as a child and wears them happily every day. He always gets a good fit in LL Bean shoes and clothing. They are also a value, well made and long lasting. We will continue shopping with LL Bean for quality items.
