Good But Could Be Great
The quality and curb appeal of this jacket is outstanding. It blocks the wind, repels water, and is warmer than you would expect. I am very much enjoying it and I get compliments at the ski resort. However a few modifications would make this jacket the absolute best for spring skiing:
1. It desperately needs a pocket with a zipper on the cuff for your ski pass/RFID card. The only pocket on this anorak is the large pouch in the middle. Everything piles up in here and without fail, my ski pass ends up behind a phone or wallet and it won't read, forcing me to stop and take my gloves off and find the card. Very frustrating!
2. The pouch pocket needs 2 or 3 smaller pockets sewn into the back wall of the pouch to separate your stuff! This would still leave room for bulky items in front of the individual pockets, like your gloves.
3. It would also be awesome to have one pocket with a zipper or Velcro closure on the inside of the jacket.
These three additions would make this anorak absolutely perfect for spring skiing.

Two for one great Anorak
They first came out with the simple canvas like Anorak. I loved it still have. They still sell them I believe. I used another company's primaloft underlayer for cross country skiing/Snow Shoeing. Then they came out with the "soft" version with primaloft only and I used the canvas like material anorak for my outer layer. They still have that for like 25 bucks less. THEN they came out with this that put the two together and has both the canvas like outer layer AND the primaloft underlayer. It's close to perfect for like snow shoeing and cross country skiing as an outer layer. Nice decent zip that is long enough to let the heat out after a good run unlike many "quarter zips" where you wish they went down a bit more. Robust, well made, sized as stated with perhaps a skosh more room. Not too heavy for indoors nice and great weight for outdoors outer layer while NOT adding another real layer if you know what I mean. Works great down to teens with poly inner layer put a light polartec over that and this is good down to single digits with a bit of wind...

Great jacket!
I just brought my first Bean jacket and it’s great. I am happy I went with the insulated one. I hope it will serve me well for at least couple of years.

Insulated Anirak
In the past this was definitely a 5 star garment. However the current design lacks a waist draw cord actuated inside the kangaroo pocket and this cinch added warmth with a vest or fleece under layer. Therefore. 4 stars.
BTW I’ve had these garments for many years and they wear great.
