Great waterproof jacket in petite size
This is a great, sturdy, well-made waterproof jacket. The hood is ample to keep my hair and head dry (unlike the hood of other jackets). I really like the compact fit of this jacket. The Velcro on the cuffs are good and bad: sometimes I wish the cuffs were simply elastic but then I think it is good that the cuffs can fit snugly over mittens. I only wish the zipper was on the other side (because my LLBean jackets always seem to be opposite of other brands).

Review of vortex jacket.
I like the jacket, good rain protection. Also like pockets. The main zipper should be double zipper. Opens down or from the bottom. Previous model I owned had that feature & I really liked it.

Lasted 21 years
I bought this coat for a diplomatic tour in Baghdad in 2003. In 2024, the pockets gave out. I think 21 years and a lot of rugged use makes this a 10-star coat. I was sad to throw it out.
