This zip-top tote bag is made in Maine and built for the long haul. Now available with a front pocket, by customer request.
Introduced as Bean's Ice Carrier way back in 1944, the Boat and Tote was billed as a bag made of builders' canvas for hauling ice "from car to ice chest." Today you can spot it doing heavy lifting everywhere from grocery stores to gardens, from beaches to bedroom closets. Tested to hold up to 500 pounds, it'll carry more than you can carry. We promise.

Good quality bag with terrible handles
The bag is great quality and nice looking. Unfortunately, the handles are terrible if you are trying to carry the bag on your shoulder as I do with my totes. It's a shame because with longer handles the bag would be an A+. Right now it's a C grade.

Great tote bag. Small straps.
I like this tote bag a lot, the quality is obviously amazing and the all black color is super sleek. My only complaint is that the straps are pretty short. I’m an average build guy but when I try to put this on my shoulder it doesn’t go up all the way… especially if you wear a thicker jacket this isn’t going up your arm all the way. I would also say that 1 interior pocket would make this tote bag way better. I get that the inside is supposed to be empty so it can fit a lot of things, but just having 1 pocket on the inside for more “secure items” ie: wallet, etc, would make a huge difference. Also, if you are trying to decide between sizes I was able to look at both sizes in person. The medium is def a bit bigger than it seems in terms of space but the large is HUGE. I try to find a tote that can at least fit 1 pair of shoes, the medium can but the large can fit like 3 pairs.

Boat and Tote Bag, Blue with a front pocket
This bag is wonderful. It is very sturdy and stands up. It holds a lot of stuff! I mostly use it for grocery shopping. I love the front pocket they added as well as having a zipper to enclose the contents. The only one little thing I noticed about the bag, it seems to be not as much as heavy as the previous canvas bags I own. But still, not that much difference.
