For over 80 years, we've been making our authentic Scotch Plaid flannel shirts the way we always have: better than everyone else's. Our exclusive flannel fabric is meticulously woven with longer-staple cotton, which means the individual cotton fibers are about one-quarter inch longer than short-staple fibers, making a huge difference in fabric strength and quality. Then, it's meticulously brushed eight times on each side and given a "touch test" by a master weaver to declare it soft enough.

Replaces my lumpy old fleece hoodie
After rocking black fleece hoodies for over 20 years I decided to go with Bean's more tailored tartan version. I use it as a house coat because, as a Floridian, 76˚ indoors seems chilly. The snap front lies flat, unlike a zippered sweatshirt; pockets abound in this shirt including two BIG pockets inside, that are separate from the handwarmer pockets outside. My Bean shirts are slightly fitted but I chose the Regular cut because I expect to wear it over flannel or chamois shirts for winter. I like the hood, it is well cut and has the correct amount of ease.
Q: How big ARE those inside pockets?
A: They will hold a FedEx envelope!
