Product Details

Our toughest, most versatile hiking pants take to the trail with a technical advantage.

  • Straight leg.
  • Straight through hip and thigh.
  • Standard Fit: Sits lower on waist.

We made these customer-favorite hiking pants from ultratough fabric that exceeds our testing standards in the lab - that means they'll stand up to every rock-scrambling, bush-whacking trail mile ahead. The durable nylon is surprisingly lightweight and exceptionally breathable, ensuring optimal comfort during outdoor excursions.

  • Features two-way stretch for freedom of movement.
  • Abrasion-resistant fabric withstands industry lab-test standards for extreme wear and tear.
  • Durable water-resistant finish.
  • UPF 50+ fabric blocks at least 97.5% of the sun's UV rays.
  • In a lightweight yet durable blend of 95% nylon and 5% spandex.
  • Machine wash and dry.
  • Two back zippered pockets.
  • Zip-off style easily converts pants into 10" cargo shorts.
  • Gusseted crotch for additional comfort and ease of movement.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made it to Everest Base Camp I loved these pants! They are durable, lightweight and versatile. Basically, 2 pants in one. They wore very well on my recent trek to Everest Base Camp, and kept me cool while I spent a week in Thailand. Highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cresta Plus and Minus My second purchase of the Cresta Pants, so I like them. The new ones have a nice improvement; the pulls for the zip pockets have a little plastic pull attached to the metal zipper pull. The pull extension prevents the entire pull from getting lost in the edges of the pocket, especially in the back. The lower seams on the back pockets on my older Cresta pants failed (albeit after years of use!), something that has never happened on any pants I have ever owned. Those Cresta pants -- and I assume these new ones -- were otherwise durable, light, and quick drying. Finally, Bean could improve Cresta pants significantly by making the front pockets deeper. Objects placed in the front pockets fall out easily and, on the trail, something lost stays lost. The zip pockets (a big reason I bought Cresta originally) are always secure and in constant use. But sometimes a more secure front pocket would be more convenient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great travel pants A baggy fit kept these from being 5 stars.5 stars for material and the 2 zippered thigh pockets. Well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Choked on the cost but turned out perfect These seemed long when I first got them, but they were perfect for a fall trip to Utah where they served as both shorts and long pants. They are lightweight, tough, "give" just a little, have many pockets, good zippers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile I like the light feel and being able to switch between long pants and shorts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cresta hiking pants NOT FOR HIKING I bought these pants for hiking as the as they are marketed as hiking pants . The first time I wore them was to go hiking and I slipped on the rocks sliding down on my butt , the pants were destroyed. A hole was easily ripped in the middle of the buttocks area and the pocket was destroyed . Normal hiking shorts should be rugged enough to withstand this type of event. As I have done this before with other pants / shorts with no damage to the garment. A hiking garment should be rugged enough to handle a slide on the rocks . Thank you LL bean for lowering your standards and craftsmanship , false advertising and no longer standing by your products. I wouldn’t either if I lowered my craftsmanship . Shame on you LL Bean, you use to be an outstanding American company with excellent craftsmanship and warranty policies, your products were well made. I guess it makes sense to no longer back your products if you’re knowingly making inferior products and selling them for much higher profit margin …. Or does it ? Is it really worth loosing customers over, you can only go so long riding the coattails of a brand name that use to be superb and people didn’t mind paying a premium for . I’d rather buy something at a quarter of the price that is rugged and from a company that has a good warranty policy from Indonesia , o wait these $89 dollar pants are made in Indonesia … so much for made in the USA. Thank you again for the disappointment , but thank you for the lesson . It saddens me to say that I will never buy LL Bean again ! Why bother when I can buy the same Indonesian junk for a much cheaper price anywhere else. A once great American made company ruined by greed . Definitely not the LL bean you use to be .
