Almost perfect
I live in WI, and this parka is perfect - not too heavy/bulky but still keeps me warm!
Like some others mentioned, the pockets are small! Too small that my iPhone 12 mini even got dropped a couple times already. Well, I just should button the pocket but since I don’t have to for my other coats or jackets, I forget then my phone gets dropped!
Other than that, the parka is perfect!

Much warmer than expected
When my mountain classic parka arrived, I was ready to send it back. How can something so lightweight be warm? I am so glad I kept it. Not only is it warm enough to handle temperatures in the teens, it’s extremely comfortable. I like the double pockets, one zipper and one snap closure on each side; also there is an inside pocket for glasses or a cellphone.
My concern is that feathers are coming out on the outside of the parka. Only a few so far but what if it continues? I have not previously owned a down jacket so I don’t know if this is normal. This shedding of feathers is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

Love these jackets
I have two of these jackets, one in navy and the other green. Warm and comfortable and the top notch quality that LLBean is known for. I did size up one size only because I have fairly broad shoulders, I like to wear fluffy sweaters all winter long, and the shoulders would be too tight otherwise. These wash well and I throw them in the dryer with tennis balls to fluff. Thanks Bean for a great jacket!

Super warm but…
I’ve had this jacket for about 2 months now and I’ve noticed that the top chest part and back, as it’s a different material has been pilling.? Not sure what is causing this but it’s extremely frustrating to have happen to a $250 jacket?

Hood and fit
I have decades of positive experiences with LLBean products, so I was bummed that the women's mountain parka has disappointing design and fit quirks.
Lack of any adjustment mechanism on hood left hood nearly covering my eyes. Given that a winter parka should allow for vision in bright sun to wind-driven snow, skipping a simple loop/ toggle device on hood seems like a whoops-we-forgot. Next, while the skirt-like flare at hem may be intended to allow for ease of seating (??), it's more like a giant wind scoop (there is a toggle waist adjustment). Finally - and this is a frequent fitting issue in larger womens sizes - the chest darts incorporated to accomodate womens' breasts are not where breasts are (headed for armpits!), so resulting vacant fabric stands out there.
The assembly and materials all appear to be fine and I expect the parka would perform well, but I'm
returning it, primarily due to poor hood design, secondly the too-wide hem.

Super Warm!
Great coat! It is super warm, with a sweater/layering it’s good in the 10s and 20s! The fit is pretty loose so I would stick to a normal size - no need to size up or down.
