Not for older kids
This backpack is so much smaller than I expected. My older elementary aged child carries one 2inch binder every day to and from school and that’s all that fits in there. They can barely squeeze awater bottle in the side pockets. Luckly, the lunchbox can snap to the front. I would say this backpack is more for a kindergartener and I’m currently in the process of replacing this one.

Awesome backpack
This backpack has held up for two years of abuse from a 8 year old boy. It made it through two school years. He has also used it when traveling. It has survived summer camps, hiking trips, plane rides, boats, getting soaking wet, getting muddy, being thrown around and sat and stomped on. There are no rips or tears. I am amazed at the quality!!
