Cool bag
I got this bag a few years ago and it is holding up really well. The material is long lasting and holds my belongings well. There are plenty of pockets to store things. My problem however is with the water bottle holder. It is TERRIBLE . Too many times has the bottle fallen out of the bag and left huge dents. I got a new bottle today and it fell out because of how bad the pocket is. Too many winter morning have my fingers almost froze of due to me having to carry it instead of my bag. Which is its job. Fix this and it is probably the best bag in the market.

Good backpack but not durable
Fits all the stuff my middle schooler is expected to carry around with him. However 16 months later one of the shoulder strap is halfway ripped out at the top of the bag. It’s out of the 1 year warranty so there’s nothing LLBean can do. Disappointing. A backpack should last longer than that!!

Seems like a great pack, but it's not big enough if your kid has homework in all of his AP classes and needs to pack around all those massive books. We went for the Super Deluxe III book pack instead

NOT FOR PLUS SIZE WOMEN
recently purchased this for some day hiking. I used to own one years ago and loved it. great variety of colors. unfortunately, the waist strap is too short for women if you are plus size (i wasn't years ago :-) . Also not sure if the waist strap would work for men or ppl wearing heavy coats. Otherwise a nice backpack.

Great large size for my 5th grader
This backpack has so many useful pockets and for the few weeks we have had it -it has been great and just what my 11’yo was hoping for for his bday. He wanted a slightly larger bag but more importantly with pockets. He says it’s really comfortable to wear. Will see how it holds up but seems very well made. Can fit his snow gear and school folder and spare shoes or boots and a side pocket that holds his water bottle well. Highly recommend

zipper breaks
I had this back pack for about 3 years and the zippers would derail and eventually come off
but in the time that i had it it was very sturdy but i was also carrying a lot of things around all day
