Surprisingly warm.
When I received these mittens I was skeptical as to whether my hands would be warm enough. They feel paper thin and I couldn’t imagine that the would be warm. . Over the past few weeks I have worn them in 30 degree weather, then high 20’s and low 20’s. At each drop in temperature my hands were never cold and the wind did not penetrate the material. It felt strange having warm hands wrapped in such a light material, but I have to say, I am very pleased. These mittens are not bulky and yet warm. They tuck up under the cuff of my jacket sleeve easily which keeps my wrists warm. When the temperature dropped into the teens, I did get cold hands after about 20 minutes of walking the dog, but not freezing. My big fat ski mittens will be used for longer dog walks in those temperatures.

Northern MN walker
I am a dedicated outdoor walker, even through the very cold, winter months in Northern MN. I've been on a quest to find mittens that keep my hands warm for an hour walk. I have finally found them! These Primaloft Packaway Mittens are amazing. They are windproof. I have worn them at 10 degrees and took them off the last ten minutes because my hands were a bit too warm! In below zero temperatures, I have worn light, polypropylene glove liners inside the mittens and my hands are plenty warm. The only thing I don't love is the light color of the mittens allows the black lining to show through, making the mittens look dirty.

Tight cuffs, but otherwise great mittens.
Comfy mittens, and warm enough without being too puffy, so you don’t sacrifice the ability to use your hands. However the cuffs are just too narrow. Hands fit perfect but I have to work them to get them on. Wish they gave the cuffs a bit more stretch.

Buying again b/c the best
In my 56 yrs have not found a thin toasty mitten nearly as good as these. Gave my first pair to my ma, went to buy a new pair & the store didn't have them. They are not bulky or difficult to flex(awesome for arthritic hands) and oh so warm.

Polyurethane
I was so disappointed to read the label when I received these and see “PU,” aka polyurethane, listed in the materials. This was not listed in the materials and care on the website. This is so misleading. I bought these specifically, and not gloves from other companies, because I believed they didn’t have this material, which can be toxic. I trusted that LL Bean was a higher quality and expected them to be honest. It feels like it was left out of the website description on purpose to mislead consumers. The kid cold buster gloves I ordered also have PU in them. Of the five gloves I ordered from LL Bean this season, four have polyurethane in them, and none of them were labeled as such on the website.

Buy these mittens!
Great mittens! They are light but cozy and really warm. I was concerned that they would not keep my hands warm enough but they are terrific. Have not worn them in super cold weather but they were good in the 20’s. Good fit too. I have small hands and they are perfect in size small. Not at all bulky like many mittens.

Remarkable mittens!
These gloves are terrific. I have no idea how they work - they are very, very light weight, yet are amazingly warm, even with temperatures in the upper 30’s! Back-up support of my pockets at times was helpful. They also are nicely compatible with screens.
