Universal Fit Meshback PFD
The straps are a little unusual, but the PFD is very comfortable once adjusted correctly.

Great product, great service!
What a game changer! Had to buy 2 new life jackets, and the sales folks at LL Bean helped us pick these out. We'll be replacing the others soon!

Love How It Looks!
I had to buy a life jacket for an upcoming trip. This was the only stylish one I could find. I love it. I love the color. I love that it's comforting. I love that it's flattering.

L.L.Bean Universal Fit Mesh-Back PFD
I like it. I was looking for a PFD that was a little longer (as opposed to being bunched up at my chest) - this first very nice. Thanks!

PFD has no pockets
The earlier incarnation of this "guest PFD" had rudimentary pockets with Velcro closure. The pockets were handy for stashing a safety whistle and other small items such as a compass or a small energy bar....................
Apparently , the basic pockets were eliminated on this version. That means that one's safety whistle is more likely to dangle and tangle when stored with other paddling gear if the whistle is attached externally to the PFD.. At least the kayaker-friendly mesh back was retained. ...................
This is supposed to be a very basic PFD that fits most folks. Given the price, basic pockets should still be included to allow a paddler to carry small basic safety items. .........
If one wants to carry optional gear such as a camera on their person, a more full-featured, but less universally sized, PFD such as the LL Bean Discovery or the NRS Cvest is probably a better choice. ...............
Bring back the old design with its minimalist pockets. That product was worth a 3.5-4 rating based on its universal size, utility, and value..
