POOR QUALITY AND NOT UP TO LLBEAN STANDARDS
Quality was not in the range of price and the jacket was far too small. I ordered Large (42-44) Men's and what I received would barely fit a teenager .... and certainly would not fit a large teen. The weather was getting colder and I needed a coat, so I checked out local BURLINGTON STORE .... I purchased a better jacket for $24.95 ... This was 10% of the price I paid for the above LL Bean jacket .... LL Bean has quality products I know .... this is not one of them. Don

Very light, but warm
This coat is unbelievably light yet warm. I kept the tags on for a few days because I didn't believe something this thin could keep me warm in 30 degrees, but I was warm, so the tags are off and I am very happy.

Does what it does well!
My wife got one of these a couple of years ago and loves it.
I’ve had mine for a few days now, and am loving it too!
Some reviews say this jacket isn’t particularly warm, but I disagree. For a packable jacket that weighs less than a pound, it performs quite well. Bean says it works best when worn over a mid-weight layer. This is what I’ve done, and the jacket is roomy enough—even when worn over my thickest hoody. Note: my chest measurement is 42 inches and I bought a size large.
I live in the central Midwest part of the U.S., where winter mornings can start in the teens, but warm up to the 40’s or 50’s by afternoon. This makes my new primaloft pack away perfect for the region, as I can take it off when it warms up and just wear my mid-weight hoodie. Would this jacket work for single digits and below zero? Probably not, but that’s not what it’s meant for. I have my Bean 3 in 1 jacket for that. Otherwise, why bulk up like the Michelin man?

Holds up well, warmth is ok for what it is.
I've had this for a few years now and it's held up well. I'm 5'10, 160-165 lbs and a medium fits well. Relatively snug but loose enough to wear say a swearer underneath. If you are my size and barrel chested say, you would want to move up to a large. Everybody's warmth tolerance is different and a jacket that is warm for one person might be chilly for another. Compared to jackets I've owned I would say the warmth of this jacket is smack in between a lined windbreaker and a light weight down jacket of similar size. When outside doing a brisk walk, I'll wear this down to 40 degrees or so, maybe a little cooler if wearing a warm underlayer. It holds up ok for awhile in a light rain, although of course, not a jacket of choice if deliberately heading out in the rain People in colder climates such as I in New England, don't make the mistake of thinking this is a winter coat. Another con is the hood is not snug nor adjustable and will not stay in place if windy. I don't understand why many manufacturers don't include a hood adjustment in these jackets. But overall, I would recommend this jacket but only four stars, not five.
