Very Happy
I had my NorthFace down parka for 17 years and after trying many brands I knew none would match the warmth and wind resistance of the one I had. After searching for 2 years I noticed this one online. I live in Manitoba Canada so had to rely on the reviews.
Excellent for warmth and wind resistance with its tough material.
So many classy details - black stitching, Llbean logo near the bottom, side gathers with 3 snap options etc.
Because of reading previous reviews I was able to get the perfect fit. I am 5 feet 6” and 138 pounds. The regular xs fits perfect. Sleeves are long enough, the jacket dips further down at the back. Not much room for bulky sweaters but better than being overly large from what other reviewers mentioned for my size wearing a small.
Love the inside cuffs which are a must for warmth. The fur on the hood zips off if desired. The inside orange is a classy colour not just straight ‘hunters orange’.
I ordered the khaki green as the black was sold out and it is a good 2nd choice for colour.
The last but important feature is it has a smart womanly style something the Fjallraven parka did not offer.

Warm and cozy.
Warm and cozy. Wind and cold finally met their match. The huge zipper and buttons are easy to use and function perfectly. Cindy says it’s the best !!!

Cute coat
Warmest coat I’ve ever purchased. I almost didn’t buy it because of other reviews about the zipper. I haven’t had a problem with it at all. I live in the northeast and hike with my dog twice a day in sometimes brutal weather. I put the hood up and I’m good to go. It’s well made and will last for years. Happy with my purchase.

Very warm / limited visibility
I purchased this coat because it was labeled "warmest". I can attest to the fact that it is warm. I would like to give it 5 stars but can't because of two issues that may seem minor to some people. First, the hood blocks your vision to the sides. And before you ask, YES I have it adjusted to be as far back from my face as possible. I will try removing the 'fur' trim to see if that improves. I was at a walk through holiday light display and had to put the hood down because I kept running into people at my sides because I didn't see them. Secondly, It can be difficult to zip up. The coat is bulky and trying to zip a black zipper on a black coat when you can barely see the end is quite difficult.

Warm, warm, warm!
This is THE best winter coat I have ever owned. Super warm and comfortable. Don’t even need a hat if you put the hood up. Pricey, but if you spend time outdoors in winter, totally worth it.

Adjustable side straps wont adjust
2 stars because the fasteners on the sides of this coat to tighten it were made improperly- they cant be adjusted. Given the price of this coat, it should have been perfectly built.

Warmth with Unnecessary Effort
This coat fits nicely and provides great warmth, assuming one can zip it up. It has a plastic zipper that is difficult to use. I have to begin the zippering process while the coat is off me, step into the coat, and finally complete the zippering process. I'm 73, and at some point, I will probably replace this coat with one that has a metal zipper and allows me to wear the coat while zipping it up. With regard to this product, L.L.Bean seems more interested in profits than in the ease of use and quality of materials.
