Went to the Flagship store to try on sweaters. They had a lot of variations on this style in the hunting department. They were all very nice - dense, heavy merino wool, good medium lavandar/purple color. It has a slim fit which is good for me. They did not have my size so I ordered it. When it came it was just as beautiful but smelled like bug spray. The same smell as imported rugs. I have hung it out on the porch and the odor is fading. The store ones did not smell like anything. Disappointed it didn't smell little like sheep lanolin. I may keep it if the odor fads. I will put it over an old mid weight base layer and under a wind proof shell. I expect it to be warm. I hope to use it for X-country skiing and snow shoeing.

Durable, work horse if a sweater
The sweater is very thickly knit and substantial. It is extremely warm. In fact, it is so warm that I don’t think I’ll be able to wear it here in South New Jersey. Perhaps I’m jaded because I tried it on in the beginning of September when it was hot. I returned it, but I may buy it later in the season. The sweater reminds me of vintage wool sweaters I used to wear as a teenager. This is the real deal.

Love everything about this sweater
Soft collar lining is a nice touch. Open the 3/4 quarter zipper if I get too warm. I wear a Bean pima long sleeve tee under it which cures any itchy-ness without adding bulk. I like to wear natural fibers. I have all three colors.

Beautiful and cozy
I had forgotten how comfortable a wool sweater makes you on a chilly day. This is so beautiful and cozy, and someone compliment it right away. I wear it with a cotton turtleneck so it’s more like a jacket—I won’t have to wash it as often. That said, when I touch the wool it doesn’t feel itchy at all—and I am pretty sensitive to itchy wool. Highly recommended!

Cozy
I bought this sweater for a versatile layering piece for really cold weather and I am very pleased with the quality of the workmanship and fit. We don't that many cold days except in the NM mountains, but the wind chill can be tough anywhere. I wear it layered with a silk-weight tee and a shell to block the wind. The dark gray color is flattering. I love that it is WOOL! I expect it to last a long time.
