Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super warm, pockets and zip are a bit awkward This winter jacket has taken me through one full very snowy and cold Ottawa winter, and is in great shape to take me through many more! I am short (5'1") and the petite size works well for me. As a few other people have mentioned, the pockets are a bit too far down to comfortably rest my hands in but on the bright side, they are nice and big. The zip can be quite fidgety, it takes some getting used to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for winter in the north Haven't worn this out yet, but I can already tell it'll be super warm. Planning to wear it all winter in Helsinki. The sleeves are nice and long too! The hood is snug- in a good way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing jacket! This jacket was a gift from my mom, because no matter how many previous coats & jackets i had had, i was usually still cold! NOT with this coat/jacket! Warmest coat EVER!! I absolutely LOOVE IT! Mom & i lived in Ellsworth at the time, so we went to that outlet in ellsworth. I had just never found a coat that truly kept me warm in all situations; UNTIL my mom purchased this for me. I think the MINUTE I tried it on, i just KNEW it was FINALLY the right coat for me!! That was like THIRTY YEARS AGO, i think!! Mom & i both agreed! My mom passed three years ago, so i will always think of her when i wear that jacket!! I FINALLY, found a jacket/coat, that i can ALWAYS count on keeping me warm AND dry!! Now that i have granddaughters, i can go outside in winter, and stay as long as they like, as i know i’ll be BOTH WARM, AND DRY!! And the jacket still looks practically like new! For all of the use & wear it has gotten, i sm VERY PLEASED! I can ALWAYS count on L.L. Bean to provide a quality product, that will last! PLUS the satisfaction guaranteed that L.L. Bean stands behind, is also a plus! However, due to the highest quality of their products, i have yet to have ever had to replace or exchange anything that i have purchased from L.L. Bean, and i’m 67, and a loyal customer all of my adult life! My mom was also a huge fan of L.L. Bean as well!! I have even tried to like Cabela’s, and other outdoor wear company’s products, as well, but for me, they just CANNOT compare to my good old L.L. Bean!! THANK YOU L.L. Bean!! You’re THE BEST‼️😎

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too big for the size I ordered this jacket for my wife. The hood was too big and the sleeves too long for the size I ordered. We returned it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A serious about winter coat! This coat is the real deal! I bought it for an upcoming trip to Norway so I haven't field tested it yet, but I'm sure it will be great! I trust LLBean to make something that withstands tough winter weather!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really really want to love it Bought this a few months ago for the following reasons: 1) LLBean craftsmanship withstands the test of time; 2) HUGE pockets for snacks; 3) Petite for my tiny stature; and 4) waterproof. I really liked everything about it. Now here’s what i found out: 1) you HAVE TO velcro the top - if not, leaving it open will wear away at the shoulder of the jacket; 2) it’s “slightly fitted” but the adjustable waist portion really does nothing lol. for context, im 5 ft and 120 lbs. it was still large in the waist.; 3)you must snap close the bottom and button the entire length of the jacket to ensure a windproof seal. If not, you get a wind tunnel going UP your jacket.;4) you cant wear the hood without the fur portion. If you do, it’s like 4 inches of hood is missing and doesnt fully cover my head. However, i would still recommend this jacket. It really is pretty darn warm and the waterproof and and pockets are fantastic. Sigh. I really really really wanted to love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, waterproof, generous hips Warm and cozy, slightly fitted coat. Excellent waterproofing. I got this coat because it is slightly flared below the waist. I am a classical pear shape, and my top half is a medium, but my bottom half is much larger. I think LL Bean puts my butt in the "extra large" category--about 45"--still, I got a large and it fit well. It could have been smaller up top for me, but it isn't horrible. (Sigh. Pear is a common shape. It would be nice if there was a clothing line for us.)
